Is Margo’s an online shop?
No. Margo’s will be a shop on the high street. There are plenty of online providers of sex products. The ability to talk to people face to face is an important part of our mission.
Can I go to Margo’s now?
Not yet. We are looking at ways to secure the funding to get Margo’s up and running.
Can I get more involved in Margo’s development?
The more the merrier. As well as supporting the fundraising effort, you can complete and share the market research survey. The more we know about what women want, the better Margo’s can meet their needs.
Will Men be able to use Margo’s?
Yes. But with restrictions. Margo’s will be providing a deeply personal and intimate service for women. To succeed, it must be a place that above all else women feel relaxed and at ease in and this means a strongly female environment. Nevertheless we recognise that some women will want to discuss their needs with their male partner. And we also know that some men will want advice about how best to support and pleasure their female partners. Margo’s will not therefore be exclusively women only. Men will be able to visit Margo’s if they are accompanied by a woman. They may also be able to attend specific themed sessions or workshops that are either targeted at heterosexual couples or men. And we may even want to run men-only opening times. These are the sorts of things we want to test in the first year of operation so that we can explore what balance is the right one.
When will Margo’s open?
That all depends on how quickly we can raise the money. Margo’s will need around £100k to operate for 12 months. That 12 months will give enough time to test out the different approaches and ideas and understand what works best. See our Plan page for more information.
Where will Margo’s be?
The first Margo’s will be in Sheffield. But part of the first year of operation will be looking at how Margo’s can expand quickly and successfully to other cities.
